Like patient education illustration, this portfolio contains illustrations for laypeople, though in general do not assume that the audience is suffering from a particular disease or medical condition.  Medical illustrators have an obligation to explain medicine and science to the general public in a way that is engaging and easily understood, without being offensive. As with all instructive illustration, the successful communication of facts and knowledge is the key.
